I had the opportunity to play with Cam Smith during an Australian amateur championship. He had a rough start, shooting an 8 on the first hole, but then went on to finish the round at 4 under par. It was a beautiful round to watch. I was playing well myself and managed to scrape through with an even-par round.

The two things that really stood out to me were the sound of his ball striking and how sharp he was from 150 meters in. One other thing I noticed—he was on the range before I got there and was still practicing when I left. His dedication really set him apart.
